If you’re here, you’re probably just like me and spent way too much time trying to find the ninth pillar for this quest. The quest is called A Giant Threat, and it asks you to search the Stone Altar for clues tied to the Eye of Esh. After almost three hours of searching, I finally found it. Where to find the 9th Pillar in a Giant Threat Quest
Head straight to the center of the altar area. There’s a pillar lying flat on the ground right in the middle. Grab that one, and now you’re probably stuck at eight out of nine. That’s why you’re here.
I’ve also marked the exact location of the ninth pillar on the map below.
The last pillar is not on the altar at all. You need to head northwest, away from the altar itself, toward the river. If you’re checking your map, it’s clearly off to the northwest side. Walk over to the edge and carefully jump down.
Once you’re down there, jump straight into the river. The final pillar is lying underwater, completely out of sight unless you know it’s there. It looks like part of the environment, which makes it almost impossible to notice.
Swim up to the underwater pillar and press F when the prompt appears to interact with it, completing your pillar progress from 8/9 to 9/9.
That’s it. This is definitely one of the most frustrating objectives in the game. Hopefully, this quick guide saves you a ton of time and frustration.
